Senior Girls Basketball Update

The Senior Girls' basketball team played their first games of the season this past weekend at the ISA championships held at Shawnigan Lake School. The team finished with two wins and two losses and played competitively throughout the entire tournament. In the first game Brentwood faced Southridge and lost 77-55. Leading scorers for the game were Denesha D (16) and Siobhan W (12). Player of the game went to Siobhan W. In the second game Brentwood dominated St. Margarets and won 81-41. Leading scorers were Denesha D, Abby N (14) and Madlen A (8). Erin Y had a strong game rebounding and Ashley W also had a solid game. Denesha D was player of the game. In the third game the girls faced St John's. Using their height advantage Brentwood played a strong zone defence and won the game 45 to 34. Leading scorers were Denesha D (26) and Emily H (8). Abby N played a strong game on defence and received player of the game. In the fourth game Brentwood played West Point Grey. Although they lost 50-32, it was a close game most of the time. Madlen A was the player of the game and was the leading scorer with 18 points. The girls should be commended for their strong effort this past weekend, as this was a building block for the start of league games.
