Senior Boys Capture Mid-Island Title

11 February 2011
On their first day of mid-term break, the senior boys basketball team stuck around to take care of some unfinished business at Shawnigan Lake School.  The host school turned out in huge numbers, as did a remarkable number of Brentwood staff and students considering our school was on break.  It was standing room only and the noise was deafening but the Brentwood side kept their composure from start to finish and came away with an impressive 59-42 victory against a strong Shawnigan side.  This game was clearly won on the defensive end as the boys were able to lock down Shawnigan's top scorers and won the rebounding war 46-34.  This marks the third consecutive year that the team has captured first place in the Mid-Island league.  The boys will be returning early from break to gear up for the South Island playoffs starting Thursday, February 17th at Lambrick Park Secondary in Victoria.  The team will open against Parklands at 3:45pm.
