Senior Boys Basketball: close loss to Holy Cross, but progress is evident!

Brentwood lost a game it could have won against Holy Cross High School (from Saskatchewan) on the second day of the Victoria Police Invitational Tournament at Spectrum High School. Thus, in a tournament full of upsets and surprises, Holy Cross will meet Ballenas High School in the final while Brentwood meets Glenlyon-Norfolk School in today's consolation final (at 12:45 p.m.).  Most frustrating for the Brentwood players, who played excellent basketball for the first three quarters and led by seven going into the fourth, was a lack of focus and poor execution in the last 10 minutes. To their credit, Holy Cross played exceptionally well and deserved the win. Brentwood rebounded from this loss with an excellent performance against Prince Rupert High School, who earlier in the tournament defeated #3-ranked Esquimalt High School from Victoria.
