A long and memorable season had to come to an end. Even though this incredible group of guys will never play as a team again, there were certainly some outstanding and unforgettable memories created along the way.

After a painful first few weeks of physical training and torture, which included, among other things, hill sprints with Mr. Felix at the top shouting at the young men staggering uphill, the season finally began. With a challenging preseason schedule that included a couple of trips to Vancouver, a new level of chemistry formed among the team. Given the chance to play the best high school team in Los Angeles, we were certainly ready to take on anyone. It may have been a good thing that we never got the chance to take on L.A. as one of our teammate’s goal was to get dunked on by a freak athlete going to the NBA. With that and a very memorable performance from a certain teammate experiencing his first ever ice bath, the team was ready to take on the rest of their season.

There are many memories that stand out, including beating SLS four times in one season, one teammate somehow missing his plane five times, finishing at the top of our division for the seventh year in a row, being attacked by a shark while walking in the ocean, finishing the regular season ranked eighth in the province, and about thirteen different times managing to lose the brand new jerseys. These are memories that will not be forgotten. After it was all said and done, after working with this incredible coaching staff and playing alongside these incredible teammates, the only thing I have to complain about is that I can’t play alongside them for one more year. Over the years there will be lots of things about Brentwood that I will forget but I won’t forget my time with this team, because it didn’t take very long for this amazing group of guys to start feeling like family. We will be family for life.
