Senior B Volleyball had a very rewarding season playing against almost every Cowichan Valley high school. They had challenging moments when they had to battle against stronger teams and then keep playing with tenacity against weaker opponents, but their passion for volleyball, their drive to be competitive, and their curiosity for learning was where this team found its strength. The depth of the team consisted of returning players, veterans of the junior program, and players new to the sport. The team had excellent leadership from Captain Sarah C. She was also the starting setter and was a strong member of the team on and off the court. Honourable mentions to her Co-Captains, Patricia P & Sydney MW, who assisted in leading this team. One highlight was playing in the local league where we battled against powerhouse teams from Duncan Christian and Shawnigan Lake. The girls went about each match with precision, confident that they would play their best. They rallied against their stronger opponents not letting them win without a fight. Tough and consistent play by veteran players created a solid foundation and set the standard for the rest of the team to follow. Although a senior team, the girls were invited to play in the CVIAA Junior tournament. With eagerness, the girls were willing and ready to display their skills on home turf.  It was an exciting tournament with natural highs and lows, but with each match the girls persevered with determination and grit. Very talented Shawnigan Lake and Brentwood junior teams proved to be too tough for us and the girls were disappointed with not placing higher, but we did come out with our heads held high as third place finishers. This tournament concluded a very successful 2014. We bid farewell to graduating players Sarah, Sydney, Tajzha D, Elena MT, Jasmine M & Cristina T. May they keep this season close to their hearts and keep their passion for volleyball alive. Mrs. Tanya Scheck, Coach
