As the longest term of the year came to an end, we took some time to reminisce on the wonderful memories made with the Senior A team. We all walked into the gym every day with the same mindset to be the best player we could possibly be. That hour and a half that we spent on the court was where we could forget about our problems and play the game that we love. Our team went on countless bus rides and ferry sailings to compete in some major tournaments, such as those at the University of British Columbia, Camosun College, Vancouver Island University, and the ISAs at York House. We stayed determined and diligent, keeping up to date with our missed school work as much as possible.  We wanted to win some hardware, badly. Our hard work paid off when we won our home tournament for the first time in four years. That lit a fire inside of us. We then continued to win the North Island Championships, and finally an intense win against Woodlands at the Island Championships. As the exhibition matches came to a close, things changed. The road to playoffs had begun. We pushed ourselves to levels we had not yet reached and continued to grow stronger and more talented as a team.  Provincials in Kelowna was an eye opener for most of the team. This amount of pressure was something new that we had never experienced before. However, we handled it as well as we could, continuing to risk and work hard. This attitude led us to end Provincials with four wins and two losses.  Although we did not do as well as we had hoped for, the team travelled back home knowing that we left every ounce of our hard work on the court. As for the Grade 12s, it was a surreal feeling to be taking off the Brentwood jersey for the last time. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank our coaches, Jill Fougner and Mike Minkler, for the countless hours, dedication, and love that they put into this team. Without them, the bond that this team has created would not be nearly as strong.  Lauren Y, Mack ‘16
