Santa, Cookies, and Reindeer, Oh My!

It’s that time of year again: lights are being strung and Christmas spirit is in the air. As most students were relaxing and enjoying their free Sunday afternoon, members of the Student Activity Council were readying for the Annual Children’s Christmas Party. It’s a festive Christmas event held for the children of Brentwood staff. Festivities included fun and games, cookie decorating, a spectacular performance by Ms McCallum’s Grade 9 Drama students, and a visit and gifts from Santa. There was lots of laughter and smiles in the room as the children played and parents chatted over cookies, eggnog, and coffee.  On behalf of the children and their parents, we would like to thank all the student volunteers who spent their Sunday playing with the children, the food services staff for putting on a child’s dream of a meal, and everyone who helped with decorating and wrapping presents! It was a fantastic day for everyone! Special thanks go to Mr. Lawrence, Mrs. McLean and particularly to the inestimable Mrs. Quinton who coordinated the event.    Danielle DW, Mackenzie ‘15
