On Thursday, February 25th at 12:30 pm, the 11th annual Ross Cup hockey tournament will be kicked off by the Junior Division games, followed by two more days of games. Held at Kerry Park Arena in Mill Bay, this tournament will feature 49 of our hockey players over a three-day period, with a total of 21 games played. Another dozen Brentwood students will be volunteering as minor officials and assistants.

This year the Brentwood teams will be competing against other schools in the province for the Ross Cup, named after former Head of School, Bill Ross. Each team averages seventeen students, most with both male and female players.

In the junior playoffs, all five teams are from the Cowichan Valley schools: Chemainus, Quamichan, Mt Prevost, Queen of Angels, and Brentwood. Tomorrow they will be playing a round-robin mini tournament with the top three teams advancing to a medal round on Saturday.

The senior games include 6 teams: Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School, St George's, Vancouver College, Kitsilano Secondary School, Prince of Wales Secondary, and Brentwood. These teams will play Friday and Saturday morning in a preliminary round with the top four teams advancing to a medal round on Saturday afternoon.
