Regatta 2011: The Stage is Being Set
Yes, literally and figuratively, the stage for the 2011 Brentwood International Regatta is being set for the 1750 rowers and thousands of spectators who will join us for the 41st annual event Friday April 29 to Sunday, May 1. Forty-one clubs, from as far away as Sydney and Tasmania, Australia, will send their best crews to churn up the waters of Mill Bay as 179 races featuring 900 entries will make Mill Bay the world’s rowing HQ once again.
Weather permitting, races will run from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, 7:00am-8:15pm on Saturday and 7:00am-11:15am on Sunday. As well as the rowing, there will be live music and a host of student entrepreneurship businesses on the plaza. On Saturday between 1:45 and 2:15pm, 5 new boats will be christened honouring past rowers and present staff who have been outstanding members of our club.
Brentwood alumni and parents are also invited to a reception in the foyer of the Bunch Centre on Saturday from 3:00-4:00pm and a dinner at the Arbutus Ridge Golf and Country Club between 6:30 and 10:00 pm. To register for the dinner, please email Lara McDonald.
