Quinn Erickson is University of Washington bound...

Thursday, November 13, 2008 - By: Brian Carr

On Thursday afternoon in front of parents Murray and Carol, rowing coach Patricia Steinbrink-Kelly, and senior university counsellor Gerry Pennells, Quinn Erickson signed her letter of intent to attend the University of Washington in the fall of 2009. This document is a binding contract created by the NCAA whereby Quinn commits to attend the University of Washington on a full scholarship for rowing. Quinn is presently the stroke of the Senior Girls Varsity Eight and hopes to lead her crew to the podium at the Canadian High Schools Rowing Championships in the spring. In Grade 9, Quinn was a member of the Senior Girls Varsity Eight that raced at the Opening Day Regatta at the University of Washington. It was then that she made the statement that this was the school she wanted to attend. Dreams do come true! On behalf of the Brentwood rowing programme, I would like to extend my congratulations to Quinn, her parents and her coach for her achievement.
