Puff Preview For a Magical Night

20 April 2022

After a year of Covid-cancellation and a performance over Zoom, the Senior Play will finally, once again, be in front of a live audience. They are back with a bang, performing the Broadway show Puffs, which is a comedic rendition of J.K. Rowling’s famous Harry Potter series. However, instead of focusing on Gryffindor and their star magicians, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, it becomes a story from the perspective of Hufflepuff House.

To amp up the excitement of Brentwood students, we have been able to see a new Harry Potter movie played every evening in McNeill’s for the past week. With the show starting today, both the cast and the Brentwood community are ecstatic.

“The whole cast has worked tirelessly, devoting their heart and soul into this performance and we really hope everyone can be in attendance virtually or in person” said Co-Captain Sophia PT, Alex ‘22.

The doors open at 7:00 PM on all nights (April 20th through to April 22nd) and the show kicks off at 7:30 PM. To book tickets visit https://brentwood.simpletix.ca/.

Mr Interlandi passionately said: “Covid robbed the last two senior theatre companies from performing in front of a live audience. I think last year's group did an amazing job with She Kills Monsters (SKM) but the disappointing part of it was that the Brentwood community did not get to experience it live, which was the way we intended it to be seen. SKM really inspired me and how I wanted to put on Puffs.

This year's group fell in love with Puffs and that excitement hasn't waned - it has intensified with each step we have taken together in realising this production. The talent, the commitment, and the hard work, have not gone unnoticed. The opportunity to perform to a live audience has not been lost on this group.

This is also an extra special year for me - because I have known most of this group and worked with some of them since their Grade 9 year, which was my first year at Brentwood ... they are my legacy group. Seeing them grow and mature into the amazing young people they are today fills my heart.

And finally, my greatest joy as a Director is the opportunity to see my cast shine - I can't wait to see them deliver and knock the audience out of their seats!”

Thank you to Mr Interlandi, the performers, the stage and screen crew, and everyone else involved in what will be a truly magical night. We hope to see you all there. If you can not attend you can tune in through https://www.brentwood.ca/live
