In early June, Brentwood had the chance to host & compete in the BC Rugby 7s Championships. As it took place just a week after the 15s provincials, we only had two practices to form teams & get used to the different style of play. Our more experienced team was entered in the tier one competition & the younger guys played in tier two.  Brentwood A played three games on their first day, winning against Oak Bay & Aberdeen Hall. Our only loss of the day came against Shawnigan, who would eventually win the championship. We then won our quarter-finals match against Saint Michael’s. It was a very satisfying overtime victory after we lost to them in the 15s Championship finals. We then lost another competitive game against Shawnigan in the quarter-finals, but went on to win the Bronze medal game against St. George’s. This result showed our improvement over the two days. Thanks to the many students and staff who helped create a wonderful rugby atmosphere on the school’s sunny campus. Keiran 17 MH, Rogers
