Privett Pizza Brothers
Every second Saturday at about 8:30 pm the smell of pizza occupies the hallways of Privett House. Big Brothers is a way of bonding in Privett and the boys cherish this fortnightly event a lot. The 9s, 10s and 11s get assigned to a Grade 12 dorm where they meet with the Grads and about five other boys.
The purpose of these meetings is for the boys to get to know each other better and turn to the Grade 12s for leadership and see them as ‘big brothers’. Sam B ‘22 says he “really enjoys the community of guys I am with, and I love the pizza.
Big Brothers is a great way to get the boys together and it wouldn't be possible without the duty master, Mr Branchflower. He makes sure we are staying in check but also having fun. Sometimes the boys like to get up to energetic activities while at Big Bros. Ankit B says “I love going to the field and playing soccer with the boys.”
Big Bros wouldn’t run without the help of Fin C, ‘21 who is in charge of making the groups and getting pizza orders. The boys in the house love Big Bros a lot and it helps make Privett feel like one big family.
