Privett House

26 August 2013

As the 2012-2013 year came to a close and my final year at Brentwood did as well, the atmosphere in Privett was as it always was, filled with happiness and testosterone. With the Grade 9s blossoming and showing their true maturity, and the Grade 10s making us question whether or not they should still be in Grade 9, Privett was home. ;-) As the Grade 12s leave Brentwood as students for the last time, it is with great sadness that I must also say we are leaving Privett for the last time. Privett is a place of brotherhood, friendship and, for all of us, a second family. This blue-blooded second family that we have all grown to love has shared some of the best times together and we have some great memories locked away. As I reflect back on my final year in Privett, there is too much greatness and too many fond memories to mention in such a small space. Five years of Privett has made me who I am today and without the humour of Mr. Neufeld and Mr. Rodrigues and the patience of the duty staff, I’m sure that most of us would have turned out a lot differently. This year the boys found triumph, not, alas, in interhouse, but in the simplicities of life. I’ll miss the boys and I’ll miss the blue walls of Privett. I’ll miss my second family. Bleed Blue for life. Graem Bradley, Lifer, Privett House Captain, ‘13
