Polarize Photography Show

On Tuesday May 14, Brentwood photography students held the opening reception for their annual Brentwood Photography Art Show. The show was held in Duncan at Just Jake’s restaurant, and the photos will remain on display there for another week or so. Each student chose three of their best shots from the year, and edited each one meticulously. The photos were then framed and professionalized before being hung up at the restaurant, where they could be sold to anyone viewing the art show who liked a piece that they saw. The students that made up the show were in at least their second year of photography at Brentwood, and all shot for the digital program. This show was the culmination of a year’s work, and it took a lot of organization, meeting deadlines, and behind the scenes coordination to ensure its completion. Every student had a niche to fill in order to run the event smoothly. The student coordinators, Yuma K, Allard ‘19 and Robbie K, Whittall ‘19, both made significant contributions in making this event happen.  “It took organizing and hard work to get the show going, but it was worth it in the end” said Robbie. Other student jobs included promoting the event, organizing food and entertainment, and creating bios and name plates for the photos, our  but the event also could not have been run without the backstage tips from teacher, Mr Paul Fletcher. The occasion was successful in its operation, and the photography program hopes to improve on their showing for the same event next year. We hope to see you all there. Jack P, Whittall ‘20
