Physics Lecture: "Alien Invasion"

MIT fusion physicist Dr. Peter O'Shea will be giving a lecture this coming Friday (May 29th) at 7.30 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre. The talk will be entitled "Alien Invasion of the Internet" and will discuss, amongst other things, the effect of cosmic rays on the semiconductor chips that drive the internet. Dr. O'Shea currently works for PMC Sierra, a major provider of semiconductor chips world-wide. In addition, he will also be taking a creative science workshop on the physics of boomerangs!
