Our SALTS Journey

Being in Grade 8 and having an opportunity to take a trip together is mind blowing. This trip was mainly laughter with a lot of excitement. All of us were excited to try new things on the boat such as climbing up the stern of the boat was a new experience for all of us. As well, we got to row in the safety boats to land which was tricky as these boats rocked way more than we had anticipated.

The food was great. We were fed breakfast, lunch and dinner, of course, with every meal being very delicious.

The thing about this trip that really made it shine was the camaraderie. We became way closer and made tremendous bonds as a group. Initially I was one of the people who wasn’t amazingly into the entire boat trip, but my mindset completely changed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and so were the crew members. It was a time to have fun with new friends while learning more here and there.
