Off to Islands
The Brentwood Junior Boys soccer squad faced the Salt Spring Scorpions on Oct. 14 in the Mid-Island Championship game.
The winner would go to Islands. The vanquished would have their season end.
In the pouring rain, Brentwood and Salt Spring were very evenly matched and the game ended in a 0-0 draw. In extra time, however, Martin K smashed home the game winner and Ulysses G tacked on another to defeat the host team 2-0 and secure a spot at Islands.
This Thursday and Friday, we will compete in Victoria at SMUS in the Island Championships. Prognosticators believe that we have drawn the tougher of the two group with the 1st and 3rd ranked teams from the South and the 2nd ranked team from the North.
Last year Brentwood placed 8th at Islands and we are hoping to improve on that record. It will be our toughest challenge yet!
