Every year there are hundreds of students from all over the world coming to Brentwood. Brentwood is a school that puts a lot of emphasis on good education, athletics and arts. I am a student from Germany who came to Brentwood in the hope of gathering new experiences and becoming more independent. Brentwood is an amazing place to reach my goal quickly.

The school offers so many opportunities and may also open many doors for some of the students in the form of a scholarship if they study hard or practice a sport very well. The sports selection at Brentwood is fantastic. Every student can decide from tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, rowing, field hockey, ice hockey, cross country, rugby and many more sports.

Next to all of the sports opportunities, the most impressive thing for me at Brentwood is the education right next to the ocean and the amazing view. Students who are living next to the sea are probably used to studying in front of the ocean and maybe do not find it as impressive as me anymore. But honestly, to all the students who have not seen this amazing view every day, because they come from another country, the feeling is amazing, right?

Last time I sat in biology class and looked out the window; it was just beautiful. Or another breath-taking example is when I had rowing practice. While we were preparing the boat to go on the water I saw a seal lying right on the dock. It was so cute and I have never seen a seal before in my life.

I also asked a local student how she finds it to learn by the sea. She said, "I really like it living next to the ocean, but I do not feel it as special as you probably do. I am used to the area and since I'm a little kid I see the ocean every day" stated Jule, Hope ‘22.

I also have asked an international student from Vietnam because I wondered how she likes it here so far because Canada is actually the complete opposite to Vietnam because Canada is quiet and has a very small population relative to the huge area of land compared to Vietnam which is small but has a huge population. She said: "When I came here, I also found it amazing and very alternate to Vietnam, but I am now I’m in my second year in Brentwood and have already gotten used to the area." said Kylie, Allard ‘22.

Imagine you were me, an international student who came to Brentwood. You get up in the morning and sit in the first class at 8.15 and you see the sun shine over the ocean. The ocean reflects the light of the sun in so many different red-yellow tones which is just amazing. If you are bored and then look out of the window, the boredom is immediately blown away and you are more focused on studying, because you had a short distraction.

I really like Brentwood so far and it is never boring. The people here are so nice and they make you feel like you are at home. I have not met a student who said he or she does not feel comfortable in Brentwood.
