Saturday’s semi-finals were held in less than favourable conditions, with a very strong wind blasting down the course. Brentwood put thirteen crews on the water today to try and qualify for the finals on Sunday and nine made it through. The unlucky four who did not were Lauren McKallor in the Senior Lightweight Single, the Senior Lightweight Eight, the Junior Men’s 66 kg coxed four and the Senior Women’s 8+. The Senior Women’s 8+ had an incredible race and came fourth, losing to three American crews. There will be only one Canadian crew in the final of this event with five crews from the United States. The following nine crews made the finals (with the race times as shown): Junior Men’s 72 kg 4+ (11:49 am), Junior Men’s Heavyweight 8+ (12:12 pm), Junior Women’s 2x (1:08 pm), Junior Men’s 72 kg 8+ (1:48 pm), Junior Men’s 2x (2:00 pm), Junior Women’s 4+ (3:12 pm), Junior Men’s Heavyweight 4+ (3:32 pm),  Senior Men’s 72 kg 2- (3:42 pm), Senior Men’s Heavyweight 8+ (5:05 pm). All times are Eastern Standard Time.
