As construction on the Art and Mary Jane Crooks Centre continues, our Business and Information Technology department is researching and planning its transition into this new facility. With dedicated classrooms, integrated technology, larger offices, and a new school store that provides triple the floorspace of our current store, this department will be able to further enhance the practical, hands-on instruction that is fundamental to the business curriculum at Brentwood. In addition, this building will serve as a multi-purpose conference and meeting centre for external organizations who use the school's facilities during the summer, such as KPMG and Colliers.

Currently, highly realistic business simulations are created through small projects that allow our students to balance risk versus reward and, if well-planned, receive return on their investments. Also considered is professional behaviour, accepted accounting standards, appropriate presentation, sustainability, and the ethical aspects of various entrepreneurial ventures. To enrich the learning experience, students invite guest speakers from different organizations, ranging from small local businesses to large national firms. In Spring 2008, Stockwell Day (the Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway) shared his perspectives with our students.
