Since September 10th, the energy and liveliness inside Whittall House has been Impeccable, from the new 8th graders all the way up to the returning prefects. Mr Gage and Ms Pettit are doing everything they can to make sure the boys of Whittall are staying safe, healthy, and happy. New students, along with returning students, have not let the COVID-19 regulations stop them from bonding and enjoying their wonderful time in the house.

COVID-19 has introduced some new parameters for students during the time of Camp Brentwood. One of these is that dorms were limited to two people per room. During regular times, dorms are filled with excited students either playing video games, mingling, or just relaxing with each other. To overcome this mitigation strategy, students have set up chairs outside the dorm entrance and positioned the TV so that it is visible from the door so that they can play video games together. Will P, Whittall ‘22 says “Nothing is going to stop me from playing FIFA, 2K, or NHL 20 with the boys. We need to make the best of what we have and sitting around and complaining isn't going to make COVID-19 disappear.”

Once these regulations were loosened a bit after September 25, normal qualities and characteristics thrived throughout Whittall. Cam M, Whittall ‘22 says “When school first started the regulations made it hard for us to enjoy a normal Brentwood evening, but as they loosened a bit, things got a lot more fun and a lot better.”

The first month in Whittall has been great. The year has just started and it's getting better every day. Even though we face obstacles and challenges, there's nothing Whittall House can’t overcome together. You mess with the bull, you get the horns.
