Model United Nations & Public Speaking

MUN & Public Speaking started the year by preparing for the annual ShawMUN Global Goals Conference, which marked the first in-person event since early 2020. It served as many students’ first MUN. In October we travelled to Vancouver to attend CAHSMUN Horizons, resulting in three days of intense debate, sight-seeing, and Taylor Swift. While we were only able to attend two conferences this year, it certainly did not stop us from jumping into the world of speaking arts.

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Ms Legassicke halfway through the year, and while we miss her dearly, we are glad to see her doing amazing things at St. John’s. Similarly, we will have to say goodbye to Ms Cuk at the end of this year, as she is off to new adventures in Switzerland! But, fortunately, Ms Legassicke will be returning in September to resume her work at Brentwood.

My time with the Brentwood MUN & Public Speaking program has given me more than I could ever ask for, and I couldn't be more proud of every member who comes to class every day and steps outside of their comfort zone. I wish all of you the best in everything to come. :)
