Model UN Success

19 April 2012
Georgia K, Delegate
It was a sunny Friday when nine ambitious students donned their suits to attend Shawnigan Lake School’s second annual Model United Nations conference.  Brentwood worked closely with Shawnigan in the planning of this conference and had three knowledgeable scholars (senior members of the team) participate as Chairs. The remaining six students swept their committee’s by storm, making resolutions regarding the European debt crisis and adding Turkey to the EU as well as dealing with the situation in Syria.

All of us returned through the gates of Brentwood with a new-found appreciation of the difficulties surrounding diplomacy, and four of our team came back with awards, including Joey H as Best Delegate. It has been yet another successful endeavor by Brentwood’s Model United Nations program and we look forward to exercising our political powers in future conferences.
