Last weekend everyone was able to relax during the wonderful midterm break. Just prior to the short vacation, the Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz Show Choir accepted their invitation and attended the Nationals at Musicfest Canada in Toronto, finishing with a splendid Silver. Then the Class of 2013 celebrated their Graduation in downtown Vancouver where the girls wore stunning dresses and the boys snazzy suits.  The remaining students either went home to unwind or visited a friend. Nicholas F admired the sea life at the Vancouver Aquarium, and was mesmerized by the picturesque starfish. Ethan S played 18 holes of golf with Calder M in Calgary and, while the weather was gusty and rainy, it was an enjoyable day. As provincial and internal exams for Brentwood loom, it continues to be an action packed schedule in terms of sports. With the Tennis, Senior Girls Rugby, Senior Boys Rugby and the CSSRA National Rowing Regatta, a break was needed to recover for the long haul that students and staff are now facing.  In preparation for the St. Catharines regatta, many of the rowers returned two days early for a training camp. Jackson H explains, “I had to get up at five in the morning” for an early training session. Over the two days they had five grueling rows in preparation to be the greatest.  With only 26 more days left in the school year, Brentwood students prepare for their final month before a long, tranquil summer. This has been an excellent year for Brentwood with regards to the arts, sports, and academics and, we hope, will continue to be so for the rest of the year.  Emma P, Mackenzie '15 & Calder M, Privett '15
