Meal Prepping for Regatta

Sunny skies, happy smiles, and speedy rowers decorate Brentwood’s campus this weekend as we welcome coaches and athletes from across the nation, Washington State, and Oregon for Brentwood’s 51st Annual International Rowing Regatta.

This much-anticipated event, both within the Brentwood bubble and the greater community, is one of the few which stops our busy schedule entirely. The Facilities Crew have been working overtime to bring the campus to life while our beloved Food Services staff are busy cheffing it up in the kitchen and stocking their refrigerators to supply an extra 4000 meals on top of the regular delectables for Brentwood’s staff and students: in total, that is close to 10,000 meals over this three-day-period!

“All of the food we order on Wednesday for the whole week so our fridges are jam-packed!” says Head Chef, Morgan Milward. There will also be a trailer on-campus for the student regatta groups and any overflow from Crooks in case of any emergency food shortage.

Though we sadly had to say goodbye to our esteemed sandwich bar for this weekend, we enjoyed the delicious meals that “never fail to satisfy our growling tummies” says Avik B, Privett ‘23. A huge thank you to our Food Services team for managing to feed so many ravenous teens without fail every day - and on top of that, the additional excess of ravenous athletes this weekend. We truly do not know how you do it!
