This year was definitely unlike any other, but our Mackenzie family didn’t change one bit. The love and enthusiasm for our home and the wild bunch of personalities has continued to grow, making us the family we are.

On September 8th, 2020 Mackenzie House welcomed the first bunch of students which eventually grew to 19 new members that joined our returning family of 44 students. Since that first day, countless memories and laughs have been shared that will be cherished forever. Through the meaningful traditions we experienced - BBQ, Mack Skate, in-House breakfasts, and dodgeball with Ellis - we have truly formed a bond like no other.

From Grades 9-12, each member plays a crucial role in who we are as a house and why Mackenzie is so special. Our welcoming home consists of a large group of sisters who provide so much love and support for each other. “This year, Mack House bonded like never before. We truly were a family that no one will ever forget” stated day student and Athletics Asst. Head Prefect Abigail S, Mack ‘21.

The Grade 9s entered the house anxiously but soon enough they had formed a group of their own, with never-ending laughs and constant positivity, it was inevitable they would have a great year. “I was very nervous on the first day. Gladly I was placed in a cheerful home that has provided me with so much support” expressed Simret S, Mack ‘24.

Returning after their rookie year, the Grade 10 group doubled in numbers and so did their enthusiasm, making the house interesting at all times. They’ve created strong bonds that will surely last a lifetime.

The Grade 11s have now completed their prefect training and we are on our way to becoming the next leaders of Mack House. “I look forward to seeing what our final year has to give and how the house will continue with us as leaders” stated in-coming House Captain Rory P, Mack ‘22. No doubt, I am sure we will lead the house with positivity and support for each of the members, which won’t be a challenge with this exceptional group of girls.

Our prefects have been a core part of the sisterhood Mack House prides itself on. Without them, and the constant encouragement and devotion they gave to each member of our family, the house wouldn’t have run so well with

Thank you, duty staff! Each night was different and had its own challenges while keeping things exciting, but the duty staff continued to keep us all in check.

Finally, I would like to express our gratitude to our second Moms, Ms Cheung and Ms Nasmith. Thank you for pushing us to be our best selves while showing us your soft sides and making us all a part of your family.

“Mack House, Best House,” shouted Ms Ramsay!
