MacIsaac Honoured

Ms. Elizabeth MacIsaac, leader of Brentwood’s Concert Choir and Orchestra, as well as teacher of piano, voice and coach of the musical theatre lead vocalists, recently won the BC Choral Federation’s Herbert Drost Award for distinguished service and choral excellence. Ms. MacIsaac, is also the founder of the women's vocal group Ensemble Laude http://www.ensemblelaude.org/ , now in its 14th season and its sister choir, Encanta.

She received the award at the choir's spring gala “The Garden” last Sunday in Victoria. This same concert will be performed on Sunday May 6 at Providence Farm in Duncan at 2 and 4 pm. (tickets at the door, $10/$5, children under 5 free)

Ms. MacIsaac’s ensembles have had a banner year at the festival, all of them earning GOLD standings at the Musicfest qualifiers. The Brentwood Concert Choir and Vocal Jazz shared the Gardiner Shield for Best High School Choir and the Brentwood Pops Orchestra earned the "Adjudicator's Choice" Award for Best Large Orchestra, all at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival these past 2 weeks.
