Last Friday, all of the Brentwood boys missed an hour of prep and watched the Love the Skin You're In Presentation hosted by Brie Mathers. Ms. Mathers, a well known speaker, has presented at many events recently such as TEDx and the Franchise for Humanity Conference at Stanford University’s Global Innovation Summit.  The aim of the presentation was to improve our awareness for some of the issues that girls go through. Ms. Mathers also brought up the issues of photoshopping people and the backlash of media creating unrealistic standards by using G.I. Joe’s as an example. The talk informed us of how photoshopping was blacklashing social media causing negative effects for men and women’s mental health.  After a few questions, everyone went back to their boarding houses where, in groups, SPARC members led discussions. The houses talked about their experiences and their opinions. Some of these talks went for 30 minutes. The talks were informative and appreciated.  Thomas B, Ellis ‘18
