Ms Schultz Nicholson is an author who writes children’s and young adult books. She writes all types of books ranging from hockey to autism. Her connection to Brentwood is through Mr Brian Carr whom she met through the rowing program at UVic in 1982. He says, “She has paved the way on many fronts here in Canada. A member of the first high school women's crew to win a Canadian High School Championship in 1975, and she has also championed many worthy causes in her illustrious career as an author.”

Ms Schultz came to our English 9 class about how to write a narrative; she told us how you really want to focus on hooking the reader in the first sentence or two. She also talked about where she gets the ideas to write her own books and how it is not easy. She said that she once got the idea to write a book from a word on a t-shirt!

Ms Schultz is an amazing writer, and a knowledgeable and friendly person. We learned a lot from her presentation.
