Brentwood’s location and setting could not be better. The waterfront campus is a stunning sight to see and even the village that surrounds Brentwood is amazing. Mill Bay, or Uptown as we call it, is a picturesque hamlet consisting of numerous shops including Thrifty’s, Bru-Gos, McDonald’s, Panago, Tim Hortons, The Mill, Bridgeman’s Bistro, Salvation Army, The Great Canadian Dollar Store, the pharmacy, Tina Nail and Spa and even some clothing stores! Students can go Uptown and shop at these stores any afternoon giving them plenty of fun things to do.

Brentonians love having a place where they can hang out in their free time. “I really like Uptown because it is somewhere I can go off campus and focus on my friends rather than school” says Aidan A, Rogers ‘23. Students can spend time Uptown with others without feeling like they are at school.

Brentwood can be very challenging sometimes and we all need a rest; that’s when Uptown is a great resource again! “It’s a nice change in scenery when you need a break” says Nevé M, Hope ‘23. It is even home to many beautiful forest trails and a breathtaking oceanfront road. Whether you run, hike, or bike, there is a place for you.

“I like the freedom that it offers,” says Lorelei B, Hope ‘23. Uptown gives students a sense of liberty in terms of what they want to do, where they want to be and more. Whether you just can’t live without instant ramen or you need your daily dose of bubbly water, Uptown gives you the freedom to get those things whenever you want! Students also favour the independence that comes with having a place to go off campus.

Though Brentwood’s on-campus activities and resources are plentiful, Uptown offers an additional range of places to go with friends.
