Lauren Selman ('03) Battles to turn Hollywood Green
Brentwood graduate and eco-entrepreneur Lauren Selman and her Reel Green Media team are pioneers in the struggle to turn Hollywood green. Reel Green Media, an environmental consulting and creative media agency, assists with this shift through a new documentary called Greenlit which follows the cast and crew of the movie The River Why. The film is shot from the director's point of view as she struggles to figure out what green filmmaking is all about and why addressing the causes of global warming is important. After graduating from Brentwood, Lauren completed a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performances from the University of California, Berkeley. She then founded Reel Green Media in Los Angeles, California, in response to a growing need for sustainability in the film industry.
