Just Wiggle Your Toes
This past Saturday morning the weekly number one inspection was cancelled and replaced by a presentation by Kevin Brooks.
Before his accident, Kevin was a regular teenager like many of the students at Brentwood. He had his group of friends, and enjoyed having a good time. Then one fateful night, one wrong decision changed his life. The struggles he faced and the pain of losing a friend really touched everyone in the audience. More than once I found myself on the verge of tears and, walking out after the presentation, I knew I was not the only one.
The presentation was not all dark and upsetting; Kevin added humor and cracked clichés and corny jokes that brought smiles to the students’ faces. At the end of the presentation, Kevin was greeted with an immediate standing ovation.
