Just Another Day at the Beach

The largest Brentwood contingent ever invaded the sunny beaches of Parksville this past Saturday to participate in the Island High School Beach Doubles Championships.  Twenty players from our volleyball program donned hats, sunscreen and sunglasses to take to the sand courts.  Our Grade 10 teams saw great success with Emily H and partner Alia V. and Katie C with partner Michelle M. bowing out in a couple of great quarter final matchups.  One of our grade 12 teams comprised of Sara J and Krista F. also lost in a tough quarterfinal game.  In the grade 11 bracket Abby N. and partner Tessa M. lost as well in a quarterfinal matchup. The exciting moment of the day came when Indre S and teammate Shelby M. took the Island High school senior title (their 3rd consecutive gold medal) with an exciting win over Timberline of Campbell River 25-19, 19-25, 15-11.  It was a fabulous cap to a fun and highly successful year in volleyball!
