The season started with a strong group of 10 boys & 10 girls who were interested in competing on the junior Brentwood tennis teams. After putting in plenty of time on the practice courts honing their skills, the juniors played some friendly matches against Shawnigan in anticipation of upcoming major competitions.   At the Island ISA tournament, the boys played strongly finishing 3rd, while the junior girls defeated all teams to place 1st. The girls then traveled to Vancouver to play the Mainland winner, finishing second to a strong Crofton House team.    The second major event was the Junior High School Provincials which both teams entered. The boys improved on their performance every match & finished 6th in a strong field while the girls saved their best tennis for this tournament, defeating Riverside, Shawnigan, & Collingwood before losing a hard fought match to Crofton in the final, thus claiming the silver medal. We look forward to a number of these players moving up to senior next year as well as a strong nucleus who have another year of junior eligibility. Thank to Mr Brendan Patel & Mrs McLean for all their hard work & a fun season.
