Junior Interhouse Soccer: Whittall is Bullish

21 November 2012
After an Island Championship breakthrough by the Junior A boys, nothing could top off the soccer season better than a little interhouse competition.
Ellis and Whittall kicked off in an matchup even until the second half when Whittall proved their strength in the offense by scoring 4 times. Privett and Rogers clashed together on the lower field with an incredible performance from both teams forcing penalties to decide a winner. Rogers emerged victorious with some incredible saves from their keeper.
Ellis and Privett battled for third place, but it was the Privett guys who showed their strength and walked over Ellis to get their much deserved 3rd place.
Then it was the game they’d all been waiting for. Bragging rights were on the line. It was the fight for first.
Whittall vs. Rogers. A quick start from Whittall left the defenders dazed, and Whittall was able to get the opener.  Rogers kept fighting and at the very last second of the half, a counterattack caught Whittall on their heels and the game was tied once again.
The second half was an incredible display of effort and talent from both sides. In the dying seconds of the game with Rogers playing for penalties, a Whittall attacker muscled through the Rogers defense and blasted the ball into the bottom of the net. Whittall was crowned champions of the junior boys’ interhouse soccer.
A special Thanks to Mr. Kulai and Mr. Collis and all the volunteer linesmen for helping with the officiating!
