Junior Girls Basketball Crown Queen Margaret’s
The Junior Girls basketball team got off to a good start in the new year, winning against QMS 52-34 on Thursday. The game started off with a struggle of stopping their best player; fortunately, this only lasted for the first quarter.
The girls came out in the second period determined to win. We stepped up with our defense pressuring them to fumble and within seconds you could see Valaria, our wing, streaming down the court for an easy layup. This is how we inched forward, not allowing them to gain on us once. We continued playing well for the rest of the game catching them off guard with our speed, strength, and Caroline’s tough rebounds.
We hope to continue with this attitude playing vs. our biggest competition Shawnigan, on Monday, and next weekend in our tournament at York House in Vancouver.
