Junior Girls Basketball: Courtenay was Bruising
Our Junior Girls Basketball team attended an overnight tournament this weekend in Courtney resulting in one win and two losses. Many injuries occurred such as face bruises, twisted arms, swollen ears, and sprained ankles. The team found these games to be much more challenging than any other games previously played, but managed to play extremely hard showing a lot of persistence. These challenges can only prepare us more for their upcoming tournament this weekend.
Coaches Marquessa Mackenzie and Katrina Tarrant introduced new warm ups and drills so that the girls would adjust to the new types of plays introduced by the new teams they faced. Even new positions were assigned.
The girls are now putting the extra effort into the hard core practices this week, with a much stronger bond/understanding surrounding the team. The team is prepared for many more upcoming obstacles and is excited for what's to come.
