Junior Field Hockey Shines Silver

22 November 2012
Last Thursday, the Junior A Field Hockey team was off to Shawnigan to complete in the Island Championships. It was an early start for the team, having to be on the bus at 7:15am and playing our first game at 8:00 am, but we powered through, defeating Queen Margarets 3-0 with goals by Bryn C, Jaclyn C, and Emily L.

Our next game was against Shawnigan. We started off slowly but picked it up in the end of the 1st half and the 2nd half, finishing the game with a score of 0-2 for Shawnigan. After coming off that game the girls were determined to earn another win.

Our next game against GNS was very hard fought and we came away with a 1-0 win with the winning goal by Kaela S. At this point, we knew that we had to beat Kelsey to get silver. The team went into the game with 100% effort, and a couple of minutes into the game Brooke M scored the first and game-winning goal. After that the girls fought hard, and came away 2nd on the Island!

Thanks, of course, to Mrs. Jackson for her guidance and support all season long. I am so proud to say that I have been a part of the team, and I will never forget the many memories I made. Let’s do it again next year girls!
