Junior C Volleyball

Junior C Volleyball was for enthusiastic girls who wanted to develop their skills in a less competitive environment. The C team worked to develop serves, spikes, bumps & volleys. We worked on rotation, which was quite a challenge, but the team managed to rise up to it. Some of the girls had never even picked up a volleyball before but were brave enough to give it a shot. By the end of term each team member had improved greatly. At the beginning of the year it was a rare occurrence to even come close to winning a game, but by the end we had done what C team was put here to do, develop, winning 6 of our last 10 games.  Although not all of our games were amazing wins, we won in our hearts! Even if our team came away with a not-so-great score, we would always come away smiling. Practices were always fun and full of laughter! During games, the girls would bring their best effort. Even though games were more serious, there was never a moment when the team wasn’t smiling. When we were down points, the girls on the bench would cheer as loudly and enthusiastically as they could. If the game was a loss, we would come off the court and know we tried our best and had fun, which is what C team Vball is all about. On and off the court, this group was close. It brought different ages and types of girls together. It was a group of energetic and optimistic girls which clicked. No teammate was ever put down. If someone made a mistake on the court the other girls would still cheer her on. With no fear of getting judged for making mistakes, the girls were eager to always be on the court for games. On away games, we would really bond. We improved as a team because we all got along and worked together to achieve our goals. Our year would not have been possible without the amazing coaching of Ms Hall! She pushed us to do what she knew we could achieve. She was encouraging and focused on the team trying hard and having fun! Thank you for the wonderful term, Ms Hall! Sarah F, Mackenzie ‘17, Captain
