Junior Boys Top Thunderbirds
The Junior Boys Basketball team completed their league schedule at Cowichan Secondary School on Tuesday Feb. 7th. It was a great game for our boys, as they displayed some hard work on defense, and tenacity on the offensive boards. The end result was a 47-24 win and an all-time best margin of victory against a tradition powerhouse in the Mid-Island zone. The big three of Hayden F, Josh C, and Eric Z were too much for the Thunderbirds too handle inside and the guard play of Aidan C, Harrison B, and Woody L kept the Cowichan players off balance throughout the game.
The boys finish in 2nd place in the league with a 4-2 record and look to have another shot against Cowichan in the Mid-Island playoffs at Shawnigan Lake School Feb. 17th-18th. If the boys can win, they will earn the right to represent the Mid-Islands at the Island championships at Cowichan on Feb 24th-26th.
