Junior Boys Sweep Cowichan

Over two close and exciting games, home and away, the Junior A Boys Basketball team managed to sweep rival Cowichan SS. On Thursday, despite a very slow start, the depth of the Brentwood bench managed to outlast a quick-starting Thunderbird squad to clinch the season series. Led by Keaton H’s lock-down defence on a talented and dynamic point guard, and tough inside play by Sebastien C, the boys managed to take their first lead of the game on a buzzer beater three from Jack NG as the first half ended. Posts Yale H & Jude P battled hard against Cow High’s talented interior players while Jack R, conceding both pounds and inches, tenaciously wrestled with much larger opponents. Newcomer Shaw B showed intensity on both sides of the ball while a composed Dylan G ran the offense and hit all of his free throws. The lads will need to be firing on all cylinders this weekend as they contest for ISA glory at West Vancouver’s Mulgrave School on Friday and Saturday. Jim Ganley
