Junior Boys in Action

23 January 2014
Liam Sullivan
The Brentwood Junior Boys Basketball team took part in the ISA Championships on the weekend at Shawnigan Lake School. In the first round our boys took on Collingwood from Vancouver. With several players feeling under the weather due to flu-like symptoms, we found the scoring touch elusive and fell by a score of 46-24. This pitted us against Nanaimo Christian in the second round game. Led by Brendan S’s 15 points (including four 3 pointers) Brentwood had a much better time against this opponent. The final game saw our boys pitted against SMUS for 4th place. Again playing without two starters due to illness, our boys were undermanned but played with grit and made the game close before falling late by a score of 38-32. Carter A carried the scoring load throughout the weekend and was recognized as an honorable mention all-star for the tournament. This weekend the boys host the Brentwood Challenge Tournament with 8 quality teams from all over the Island competing. It starts on Friday at 1:00 and finishes Saturday evening at Brentwood’s Woodward Sportsplex. Mr. Liam Sullivan, Coach
