After a tough weekend at the ISA championships that saw our Junior boys field a limited squad due to sickness, the Junior boys will be hosting their annual North/South Challenge on Friday and Saturday of this week in Brentwood’s Woodward’s Sportsplex.

Four teams from the north island will be pitted against four teams from the south in the first round of games which will begin at 12:30 pm on Friday and continue until 7 pm on Saturday. Come out and cheer our boys on. The first game for Brentwood tips off at 3pm on Friday, January 20th.

Junior Girls

The girls played their hearts out this past weekend and demonstrated a toughness and resiliency in their play at the ISA Tournament. Their first game against York House, a school that has built a comprehensive year-round program, was tough, but it built some character for games later in the tournament. Our second game, against Crofton House, was very competitive until the final quarter. We had the lead at one point which is a significant achievement considering they have a year round program as well. Unfortunately, a bug that went through our team over the weekend left us without any gas to finish off the game and Crofton got the better of us.
Our final game was our best effort, with a 32 point win over St. John's. Notable play from Tajzha D, Jessica L and Nicole T really propelled our team. Every single player contributed to our success in that game and the girls should be proud of the way they played. With that type of tenacity, our league games against Shawnigan and Kelsey this week should be well contested.
