Junior A Volleyball Gets Going

Friday, September 20, 2019 - By: Jensa NG, Mack ‘23

The nets were low and the energy was high as the Junior A Girls Volleyball team entered Wheaton Gym this afternoon.

The girls started off the game with a series of blows: Sasha BL, Allard ‘22 hit 12 serves in a row, and rookie Alana H, Hope ‘23 swung at a velocity that would break a police radar gun. After winning the first set, the girls stepped back on the floor with an enthusiastic, yet sportsmanlike, attitude.

The second set was when Jocie L, Mack ‘22 lit it up, hitting, blocking, even getting a chance to play back row before Mr Minkler threw Katie C, Hope ‘23 in to be the team’s trusty lebaro and saved Grace D, Alex ‘22 and Jensa NG, Mack ‘23 whenever they were caught staring.

The girls head to VIU today and Saturday for a tournament, where the team is looking forward to getting to know each other on and off the court, while playing their favourite sporty, VEEBS!
