Junior A Volleyball

The team was grateful to be able to play games once again. Volleyball is a sport which the whole team loves, so everyone came to practice with eager minds. The dynamic continually amazed me, as it was one like no other. Every teammate and coach became close friends and supported each other.

We started off with an invitational tournament at VIU, followed by another at Camosun. In October, we traveled to Crofton in Vancouver for the ISA Championships where we placed 3rd. Throughout each practice and game, we improved tremendously, and after winning the Mid-Island Championship, we qualified for Islands!

The team was led by fearless Coach Mr Mincker and Assistant Ms Barnes. We had additional support from Ms. Fougner and occasionally at our games - Assistant Coach Mr Patel. We are very grateful for all the time they took to come to practice and support us at games. As a team, we all grew both as players and as friends.

Each player on the team has their favorite memory. Simret S, Mackenzie ‘24 stated “One of my favorite parts of the season was having dinner at Ms Barnes’ house while at the ISA tournament in Vancouver. After a day’s worth of traveling and playing volleyball, we were fortunate to be able to have a hot, home-cooked meal as well as some laughs!”

This term was definitely one to remember. Thank you all for a great season!
