Monday, October 22, 2007 - By: Tanya Scheck

The Junior 'A' girls volleyball team had another successful weekend by capturing second place at the Frances Kelsey Invitational volleyball tournament. Brentwood finished third in the 'A' pool after round-robin play, losing close matches to Kelsey and Claremont Schools.  The first round of playoff matches saw Brentwood take on the 2nd place finishers from the 'B' pool, Vanier.  They easily beat them 25-13 and 25-17 to secure a place in the semi-final match against Claremont. Brentwood started strongly in the first game winning 25-18, with the second game going to Claremont, 25-20.  The third game was very exciting as each team battled back and forth to reach 15 points, but Brentwood came through with a 17-15 victory. In the final against Frances Kelsey School, Brentwood took the lead early, but could not hold on and Kelsey pulled away to win the match 25-14 and 25-15.  Congratulations to the Junior 'A' girls volleyball team for a 2nd place finish out of ten teams!
