Junior A Boys Basketball

Wednesday, March 20, 2019 - By: Jack NG, Ellis ‘21

After countless ups, and very few downs, the Junior Boys capped off their season finishing 5th at the Island Championships. The season was a blur: winning the Lambrick Park Tip Off Tournament, second at the ISAs, winning our Brentwood Challenge Tournament, earning a Mid-Island title, and then Islands. The boys fought hard throughout the entire season, losing only three games to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams on the Island.

Five junior boys also traveled with the Seniors to Langley to compete at the Senior Boys AA Provincials, and à chance at a banner. The five young’ins showed lots of promise and got à good taste of what Senior Basketball is all about. Good luck to all of the boys representing the program next season.

A big thank you to coaches Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Kulai for helping us young athletes through the season. We came up just short of a trip to the Provincials to extend the season, but nonetheless it was a memorable year of basketball, and one to celebrate for sure.
