The Brentwood Jr. Boys basketball team completed another successful weekend of play with a 3rd place finish at the annual ISA championships held at Shawnigan Lake School. Brentwood opened play against Collingwood School from West Vancouver, and with some inspired play by 6'5'' forward Martin B, Brentwood was able to dominate play and end up with a 46-38 victory. Matched up against AAA powerhouse St. George's in the semi-final, Brentwood played hard but lacked the overall depth and athleticism to compete against the Saints, losing 68-31. Scott P was named player of the game. In the 3rd place game Brentwood found themselves against a tough and scrappy St. John's team from Vancouver. In one of their better efforts of the year, Brentwood was able to sustain their defensive effort throughout and pulled away in the second half for a 57-35 victory. Although many players had strong games, David L received player of the game for his 15 point performance. The boys are back into league play this week with a game at Gulf Island Secondary which looks to be a very difficult game.
