Last Saturday night, Brentwood held its annual Java Hut talent show. This Brentwood tradition offers a supportive, friendly environment for one and all to display their talents of any kind to the audience.  For the first time, the show was held in Crooks Hall, allowing a more spacious environment for performers and audience alike. The evening began with plenty of  Timbits and hot chocolate for everyone, as students and staff alike settled down for an evening of incredible entertainment. Blankets, pillows, couches and chairs were scattered throughout the transformed room as the much-anticipated event drew nearer. As the lights dimmed and the makeshift spotlight focussed on the temporary stage, a hush fell over the audience.  From singing and instrument playing to stand-up comedy, the chilly evening passed by quickly. Soloists and groups alike provided music that evoked laughs, tears, and thunderous applause from the audience. As they sang and clapped along, or listened silently, many were thoroughly impressed by the talent hidden right here at our own school. Performers from all grades took the stage to display their unique talents. Following the scheduled performers, an open mic night was held, and still more talented individuals filled the cafeteria with music.  Congratulations to everyone who got up on stage and performed, and a huge thank you to the entire Student Activities Council, particularly Erika D, Hope ‘19, Natalie B, Hope ‘19, and Ms McLean, for organizing this event!  Sarah R, Mackenzie ‘20
